What a year!

Thanks to you

Your support has meant the world to us this year. As we approach the end of the financial year, we want to take a moment to say thank you and reflect on all you’ve helped achieve.

At a time when charities face immense challenges, your generosity has made a real difference. Because of donors like you, we’ve been able to expand our services and provide even better support for those undergoing a urinary diversion and adjusting to life afterward.

Thanks to charitable support:

  • We’ve revamped our website and, over the year, the number of visitors increased by 112% over the previous period.
  • On the site we’ve created 11 new information pages on topics like UTIs and sexual well-being, plus 17 blogs from urostomates and stoma professionals exploring everything from mucus to Ketamine.
  • Donations to our Help Provide Hope appeal allowed us to update and redesign 8 key advice leaflets, now available for download anytime. The ‘What is a urostomy’ and ‘Understanding issues that may arise with a urostomy’ leaflets form core resources in our new patient information packs, of which 847 were requested by stoma staff for their patients this year.
  • We hosted 6 of our new webinars on topics ranging from travelling with confidence to hernia management, and the recordings have been viewed over 1,000 times. We also launched our first podcast in Urology Awareness Month, in partnership with Coloplast.
  • We conducted a ‘State of the Nation’ survey, gathering first hand experiences to highlight key trends, systemic challenges, and areas of good practice. Over 340 of you took part, and your insights have helped shape a national call to action for health and policy leaders.
  • We’ve strengthened our ties with key partners like Fight Bladder Cancer and The Urology Foundation to help in our mission to ensure supporters’ voices are heard nationally.

“I just wanted to say how useful it was to be able to catch up with the recent Insights webinar. A great idea to have such an informative archive”. Hazel

What’s next?

We’re committed to doing even more, with a focus on:
✔ Expanding support for patients before and directly after surgery to help them adjust to their new bodies.
✔ Increasing awareness of other types of urinary diversions, including nephrostomies.
✔ Growing online opportunities to connect, including ‘virtual branch meetings’ and ‘meet the stoma nurse’ sessions.

To continue this vital work, we need your help. If you can give a little extra at this time, it would mean the world to us. Every donation – big or small – helps us provide high-quality information and support however, wherever and whenever people need it.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your kindness, your generosity, and your belief in our work changes lives every single day.

“I would like to thank you very much for your help with all my questions. With your help I found it was possible to adjust my thoughts on going forward. I was not scared of what may happen. Your help was invaluable to me”. Stephen
