Speakers include:
Paula Allchorne is Urology Lead Nurse at Barts Health NHS Trust, the largest NHS Trust in the UK, and the GIRFT Urology Nurse Associate for England. With almost 30 years’ experience across all urological subspecialties, she is recognised nationally and internationally for her leadership in service transformation, education, and the development of advanced nursing practice.
Paula holds an Executive MBA in Healthcare and served as President of the European Association of Urological Nursing (EAUN) until 2025, where she led initiatives to advance and standardise urological nursing practice across Europe.
She has received 13 national awards, including Urology Nurse of the Year (2018) and the Gold Award for Outstanding Service to Nursing, presented by Dame Ruth May DBE, Chief Nursing Officer for England.
Most recently, Paula co-chaired the development of the UK Nephrostomy Framework, bringing together multidisciplinary experts to establish national standards for nephrostomy care. Her work focuses on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, workforce development, and the standardisation of nephrostomy services across the NHS.
Lauren Brown is a Urology Nurse Specialist with Vyne & Optimum Medical, bringing a wealth of clinical experience from both acute and community healthcare settings. Having spent over eight years working in community care, alongside a strong background in acute nursing, she has developed extensive expertise in supporting patients with complex urological needs.
Lauren is passionate about delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care, empowering patients through education and self-management, and improving quality of life. Her professional interests include continence care, catheter management, service improvement, patient education, Nephrostomy care and advancing best practice in urology nursing through collaborative multidisciplinary working. She has also been involved in the development of a UK Nephrostomy Framework, reflecting her commitment to improving standards of care, supporting clinical excellence, and driving innovation within urology services.
