Meet the Experts webinar: Support garments explained, Aug 2025

18 August @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm BST
Urostomy support garments webinar sponsored by Supportx

Support garments can play an important role in helping to reduce the risk of parastomal hernias, a common concern for many urostomates.

Join us for our latest webinar, where we’ll explore the role support garments can play in enhancing comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

Whether you’re newly living with a urostomy or have years of experience, this session will provide insights into how the right support wear can improve pouch security, reduce discomfort, and support your lifestyle.

Speakers include:

Maria Manousi – “I have over 16 years of experience in the medical industry, working as both a sales representative and product manager. For the past 13 years, I’ve focused on working directly with ostomates at Suportx. My work involves understanding their medical needs and lifestyle choices, and I collaborate with them to provide support in hernia prevention through various support devices.”

Claire Taylor MBE RGN PhD – Dr Claire Taylor is the Chief Nursing Officer of Macmillan Cancer Support. She also works as a Senior Oncology Nurse at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust, and previously as a Macmillan Nurse Consultant supporting patients having complex pelvic cancer surgery – surgery which often includes the formation of both a colostomy and a urostomy. Claire has been involved in a number of research projects aimed at enhancing quality of life, particularly after surgery, including the one she will talk about tonight.

John Waring – “I am a retired General Practitioner for 19 years. I am still but a youngster … well 81! I am very active from morning to 7.30pm after tea. Never sit down or watch daytime TV. The bladder cancer came 10 plus years ago with all its ramifications but I try to not let this get in the way of my activities. Life is for living !!!”
