It is only natural to feel nervous or apprehensive about travelling when you first have your urinary diversion surgery. However, with a little extra planning, you will soon find that you are able to once again enjoy going on holiday and travelling for work or hobbies.
There are a number of areas that you will need to consider:
- Your physical comfort, such as position of your seatbelt in a car or how near to the toilets you sit on a plane.
- Your packing needs, such as having equipment, bags and wipes in your hand luggage as well as your hold luggage.
- A suitable travel insurance policy.
- Access to toilet facilities and explaining your needs to others.
These topics are all covered in more detail in our travel information and travel insurance leaflets.
