Loneliness is something that can affect any one of us, regardless of our age, background or living arrangements, yet we seldom speak about it. Loneliness Awareness Week (13 – 17 June) – part of the Department for Digital Culture, Media and Sport’s Better Health: Every Mind Matters campaign – is shining a light on what loneliness is and what you can do to help yourself should you ever need to.
Loneliness has no common cause. Sometimes it can be triggered by a life event or change in situation, or it may not be triggered by anything at all. Via the link below, you can find advice for you or others who may be feeling lonely, and suggested support routes, too.
Of course, if the root of any loneliness you might be experiencing is because you are feeling on your own in living with a urostomy, you can talk to us at the Association on 01386 430140. We can also put you in touch with one of our friendly, trained volunteers who has first-hand experience of living with a urostomy.
