The governing body of the Urostomy Association is the membership.
The Urostomy Association is administered by a National Executive Committee, who are also trustees and the board of directors (the Association is a charity and a company limited by guarantee).
To provide additional support and face-to-face contact for members, the Urostomy Association has a network of Branches around the UK, each with a Consultant Urologist as President and a Branch Committee.
Each Branch has several meetings a year and has an Annual General Meeting at which Committee Members are elected. At Branch meetings guest speakers are invited to talk on medical and non-medical topics, advice may be available from Stoma Care Nurses and representatives from the appliance and distribution companies display their products. Most Branches hold social and fundraising events throughout the year.
Areas not covered by a local Branch are included in Postal Branch. Postal membership is not confined to residents of the UK – membership is available worldwide.
